Ring development with technical drawings

The development process

How a jewellery project takes shape.

Explore the design decisions, material choices and approvals behind a manufacturing brief.

Design, proportions and finish are agreed for your project.

Stage 1 / 4

Define the piece before production.

Share a sketch, reference or written brief. Identify the proportions, setting and details that matter to your collection.

Category, dimensions, quantity and destination market

Methods and approvals are agreed for your project.

From first message to delivery

  1. Define the brief

Share categories, quantities, materials and your destination market.

    • Include design references where relevant.
    • Mention any certification requirements.
  2. Review your options

Discuss the stone type, metal and dimensions needed for your range.

    • Ask for alternatives where the specification is flexible.
    • Identify the details that must remain fixed.
  3. Confirm approvals

Agree which drawings, renders or samples are needed before production.

    • Confirm any development costs and revision scope in writing.
    • Set the approval requirements for your project.
  4. Agree production terms

Review the written quotation and production plan for your order.

    • Confirm the quantity, timing and payment terms.
    • Discuss any private-label or packaging requirements.
  5. Confirm checks and documentation

Agree the specifications and documentation needed for your destination.

    • Request GIA or IGI documentation when needed.
    • Keep natural diamonds, lab-grown diamonds and moissanite clearly identified.
  6. Arrange delivery

Confirm shipping arrangements and destination requirements with the team.

    • Ask about duties, insurance and applicable shipping terms.
    • Discuss the specification for any future order.

What to confirm at each stage

The journey illustrates how a piece can develop. Your quotation will confirm the methods, approvals and sequence for your particular order.

  • At the brief

Category, materials, quantity, and whether a certificate is needed. These set the quote.

  • At the quote

Which options to take where a specification was open, and whether the trade-offs we suggest are ones you want.

  • At approval

The CAD render, and the sample where there is one. Agree the approval requirements before production.

  • At delivery

Where it ships, under whose label, and whether the specification stays on file for a reorder.

What you can specify

Discuss these materials alongside your design. Our team can help identify suitable combinations for the construction and finish you have in mind.

Natural and lab-grown diamonds share the same optical properties; origin is confirmed through documentation. Final proportions are confirmed with your specification.
