Draft — awaiting legal review
This document accurately describes how the site is built and what it collects, but it has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Caratcube Jewels should have its own adviser check it against the law of each market before the site goes live.
This explains what Caratcube Jewels collects through this website, why we collect it, who it reaches, and what you can ask us to do about it.
Who we are
Caratcube Jewels manufactures jewelry and supplies loose stones to businesses. You can contact our front office at:
- 36 W 44th Street, New York, NY 10036, USA — +1 (732) 763-1656

What we collect
- What you type into the inquiry form
- Your name, business email, company name, country, phone or WhatsApp number, buyer type, project requirements, planned order budget and preferred delivery timeframe. These fields are required to submit an enquiry.
- Where you came from
- If you arrived from an advertisement or a search result, we record the campaign parameters in the link you followed (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content and utm_term), the advertising click identifiers some platforms add (fbclid, gclid, gbraid, wbraid and msclkid), the page you landed on and the site you came from. This is attached to your inquiry so we know which advertisement produced it.
- How the site is used
- Pages viewed, products viewed, filters applied, how far product videos are watched, and which contact links are clicked. This is aggregate measurement. We do not send your name, email address, phone number or the text of your message to any analytics service.
- Technical information
- Your IP address, your browser and device type, and the two-letter country code our hosting platform derives from your connection. The country code is used to decide which privacy rules apply to you.
Why we are allowed to collect it
- Your inquiry — because you asked us to contact you about it, and because we have a legitimate interest in responding to people who approach us about business.
- Analytics and advertising measurement — your consent, which you give or withhold through the cookie banner and can change at any time.
- Security and abuse prevention — our legitimate interest in keeping the site working and keeping spam out of our inbox.
Who it is shared with
- Office map
- The embedded office map is provided by Google Maps. Loading it connects your browser to Google, which receives technical information such as your IP address and browser details.
- Web3Forms
- Your enquiry details are submitted from your browser to Web3Forms to deliver the message to our team.
- Our hosting platform
- The site and the form endpoint run on it, so it processes every request.
- Google (Analytics)
- Aggregate usage measurement, only with your consent. No contact details are sent.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram advertising)
- Only with your consent. When you submit an inquiry, we send Meta a record of the conversion from our server as well as from your browser, so we know which advertisement worked. Your email address and phone number are hashed with SHA-256 before they are sent; Meta receives the hash, not the address itself.
- Our own systems
- Inquiries may also be forwarded to a spreadsheet or customer system we use to track them.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not add you to a marketing list because you sent an inquiry.
Where your data goes
We operate from India and the United States, and our service providers operate internationally. If you are in the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area or Switzerland, that means your information is transferred outside your own country. Those transfers rely on the standard contractual clauses our providers offer.
How long we keep it
Inquiries are kept in our email and in our records for as long as there is a commercial reason to — an open conversation, an order, or the legal and tax records that follow one. Analytics data is kept for the retention period set on the Google Analytics property. Cookies expire as described in the cookie policy.
This site does not keep its own database of leads. An inquiry exists in the notification email and in whatever system we forward it to, and nowhere else.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to how we use it, or ask us to send it somewhere else. You can withdraw consent for analytics and advertising at any time through cookie preferences, which does not affect anything done before you withdrew it.
Write to caratcubejewels@gmail.com. If you are in the UK or the EEA and you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to your national data protection authority.
Children
This is a trade site. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy we will change the date at the top. Material changes to how we use advertising data will also reset the cookie banner, so you get the choice again.
